Promotion ceremony streaming live on youtube

We are very excited to be able to stream the 8th grade promotion ceremony live for the first time to ensure that the ceremony is accessible to those who may not be able to attend but still want to celebrate with our 8th grade students.  You can view the ceremony starting at 10:00 a.m. on Twin Rivers YouTube channel.  You can access the link HERE or watch below.

Promotion Ceremony Details

Wednesday, June 5th is our last day of school and we will be saying goodbye to our fabulous 8th graders. These students have worked hard and are now ready to be promoted to high school. Promotion is a special occasion where we recognize their achievements. Please see the details for the Promotion Ceremony listed below.

  • The Promotion Ceremony will be on June 5th at 10:00 am on the blacktop behind the Gym. The ceremony usually lasts a little less than one hour.
  • 8th graders in the Promotion should arrive in the Gym no later than 9:00 am to prepare for the ceremony. Students should dress appropriately for a more formal ceremony and should still be in Dress Code. (See below)
  • Seating is first come first serve and there are no tickets.
  • If you wish to have a 7th-grade sibling attend the ceremony, they need to be signed out in the office before the ceremony.  Our 7th grade students will not be attending the Promotion Ceremony so you must sign them out if you would like them to be at the ceremony instead of watching it on live-stream.
  • We will be live-streaming the Promotion Ceremony. This link will be posted on our homepage in announcements and on this page as well.  We are hoping to have it posted by Monday.  We will also send out a communication that it has been posted.
  • Families can check out their students for early dismissal after the ceremony inside the gym. There will be a QR code to sign your student out. When this is completed, students can get their certificates and leave for the day.
  • Please be respectful and considerate of others by sitting in the back or outside isle if you are bringing balloons or anything else that may obstruct a person's view including umbrellas.
Promotion Dress Code

Promotion Dress Code

Our dress code that we have had all year long applies to promotion as well.  Please also keep in mind that students will be sitting for most of the ceremony.  Students will have to walk up and down 3-5 steps to get on and off the stage so that is another thing to keep in mind regarding long dresses and shoes, particularly heels.

We know you will be excited to celebrate with your student and family.  We have worked hard to try to make the check out process a fast and easy process.  There will be posters in English and Spanish with a QR code, posted outside as well as inside the gym.
  • Please scan the QR code with your phone by opening your camera or using a QR reader app
  • Fill out the short form-be sure to KEEP THE CONFIRMATION up on your phone or take a screenshot so you can present it
  • Look for the table that has the first letter of your STUDENT'S LAST name (If they have two last name's it will be under the first of the last names)
  • Show the confirmation to the staff member at the table and they will give you your student's promotion certificate.
  • You are done!
If you need assistance or if you do not have a phone or cannot fill out the form, you can visit the assistance table and our Office Manager Mrs. Romero will help you.  You can also ask any staff member and they will be able to help you or direct you to someone that can.
END OF YEAR ACTIVITIES ARE OVER!  7TH Grade enjoyed having a movie theater all to them selves and watching some great films.  8th Grade enjoyed a day at Sun Splash.
