Rio Tierra Junior High

Your Neighborhood 7-8 School
We can't believe summer is right around the corner!  Although it is typically our student's favorite time of year, it is also a time when learning loss can occur.  A recent study found that some students experience up to a 20% loss of school-year gain in the area of English and a  loss of 27% school-year gain in math.  This is why we are committed to providing parents and guardians with as many summer learning opportunities as possible.  For the rest of the school year we will be posting expanded learning programs available district-wide and in the community.  To prevent that "summer slide" be sure to check back often and find a program (or two) that will keep your student engaged this summer.
